Some ramblings but over the last few months, I have spent more and more time looking at trends, research, and how technology is dropping on our laps which means we can set up a business in a day that can generate revenue with no skills.
Some thoughts on this, but think of the budding book writer:
Stewart loves Zombies and has a great idea about Zombies from Mars as a book, but of course, he has never written one before and has the ideas but not the creativity or where to start.
So where does he start, well lots of options:
- Take an online book writing course
- Get a book writing coach
- Get a ghost writer to do it for him.
The old way would have been to thrash something out with some advice from friends, look on the internet for a template, then hawk it around publishing houses until one bite.
Now you can self publish and there are multiple platforms to choose from but of course, the biggest is Amazons Kindle Publishing platform
So we have a idea, get it written, and then can publish it all from the comfort of home and of course comfy slippers on.
But this has existed for years and nothing new, but there is now or has been for a while and it’s thinking of automated workflows that could create a repeatable business.
AI – it’s Artificial Intelligence on steroids time
Open.AI have developed multiple services and the one I’m thinking of is GPT-3, so let’s take the model above.
You take your idea of Zombies from Mars, flesh it out with some characters and content then give it the AI model to write a 15K word book for you, you can then feed that back and repeat the process to expand it out further, this has been done already with a book launched last year but then let’s take that further.
Zombies from Mars – Stewart Townsend – written using GPT-3 which we then take the transcript and feed into a TTS service which has been trained with my voice, these are readily available (ReplicaStudios, Descript Overdub, Resemble) of course you have to train these services with a lot of audio to get them working at their best, but with a few hours of audio, they can grab a lot of your voice and sounds robotic but replicate you, as you add more training it becomes more life like.
So you can have AI create your book and then turn it into an audio file ready to be sold on Audible !!! with you as the author’s voice.
These services are extending themselves out to offer voice-overs from a set of individuals who have provided their trained voices, hence no need to go into the studio and record you can insert the text and boom have a person talking, adverts, games, intros, etc.
